From Publishers Weekly:
“Blunt and insightful, the narrative offers a few more twists and much more humanity than Snow White’s tale ever did. While the romantic elements are low-key, Gretchen’s matter-of-fact willingness to forgo love if she can have security adds an intriguing Austenian note, and Ange is a splendidly active, vivacious heroine who refuses to be trapped in the role of victim.”
From The Daily Prophecy:
“I liked the way these two stories came together. The plot was interesting and there is a constant pace. Everything happened in the right time and I was never bored. The writing-style was quick, easy and had that old fairytalish feeling.”

2nd volume of Accidental Enchantments
Book two in Accidental Enchantments.
Prince Richard is cursed. Enslaved to a magic mirror, he must truthfully answer the evil queen when she uses it to call on him. To keep from betraying innocents, Richard wanders the countryside and avoids people.
All her life, Gretchen has been teased for being small. When she hears of a hidden farm populated by little people like her, she sets out to find it–and is welcomed by the mostly male inhabitants. Lars in particular woos her with his gentle kindness and quiet strength.
Princess Ange has a year before she is to inherit her throne from her strange and cruel stepmother. She lives as a servant in her own home, and the townsfolk call her the Tattered Princess. She often flees her stepmother’s cruelty by visiting her friends at the Little Farm, and there, Gretchen and Ange strike up an unlikely friendship.
When Richard finds the queen of the magic mirror, he never expects to fall in love with a scullery maid that works in the castle. And when he discovers her to be none other than the Tattered Princess, he is determined to help her. Then, Richard is compelled to tell the queen that she is no longer the fairest of them all. Enraged, the queen vows to find and destroy them.
If either Gretchen or Richard are to have their happy endings, they must team up to break the mirror’s spell before the queen kills them all…

Why I Wrote The Magic Mirror and the Seventh Dwarf
The premise of the prince as the face in the magic mirror was actually the first Accidental Enchantments concept I came up with. I wrote a scene of Richard rushing to warn an ambassador of the evil queen’s plot against him, and arriving too late. Although that scene was quite exciting, the rest of the story stalled. Fortunately, it inspired another story which became The Sevenfold Spell. When I decided to try another fairy tale, I came back to this one.
Since The Sevenfold Spell turned out to almost be two romances in one, I decided to have two distinct romances in my Snow White story. And since the whole idea is to take the point-of-view of one of the bystanders from the original fairy tale, I decided to make a heroine out of one of the dwarfs.
But first, I had to come up with my heroine. To get to know Gretchen, I wrote the scene that is now the first scene from Gretchen’s point-of-view. I fell in love with her, fell even harder for my feisty farmhand, Lars, and I started to write. It took six months.
I hope you enjoy it!
